Hand Forks

A hand fork is perfect for loosening soil, lifting weeds and working compost in around plants in pots, raised beds and tight borders. Look for strong forged or stainless steel tines that won't bend in compacted soil, and a comfortable handle that suits your grip. Three or four flat tines break up crusted soil and tease out weeds with their roots intact, while narrow tines get between closely planted seedlings. Pair a hand fork with a trowel and a hand rake for a complete set of everyday hand tools.
