About Morakniv

Swedish fixed-blade knives for garden, outdoor and craft work
About Morakniv

Morakniv traces its roots to Frost-Erik Erson’s first knives in 1891 and continues to manufacture in Östnor, Mora—combining generations of Swedish craftsmanship with consistent quality control. The brand is synonymous with accessible, high-performance fixed blades for outdoor life, craft, and garden work.

We stock Morakniv outdoor knives, garden-focused models, and specialty blades in stainless and carbon steel—with polymer, birch, and stained-wood handles to suit different preferences and maintenance routines.

Garden & Planting Knives

Morakniv’s garden range includes kits and dedicated blades for weeding, planting, and transplanting—tasks where a sturdy fixed blade outperforms a pocket folder. Hori hori–style garden knives dig, cut roots, and lift seedlings with a single tool, while classic slim profiles handle twine, soft stems, and harvest prep.

Many growers pair a garden knife with a general-purpose outdoor model—one on the belt in the polytunnel, another for heavier cutting and maintenance around the property.

Outdoor, Companion & Craft Knives

All-round models such as the Companion and numbered outdoor series (e.g. No. 510) offer reliable Scandi grinds, included sheaths, and secure grips for daily garden and bush tasks—carving stakes, preparing produce, and general utility work.

Compact Eldris knives suit light-duty house and garden jobs, while Craftline and larger outdoor profiles add blade length and robustness for users who want more steel in hand. Symmetrical sheaths fit left- or right-handed carry on belt or pack.

Steel Types & Care

Choose Swedish stainless steel for lower maintenance in damp garden conditions—ideal when blades see soil, irrigation, and regular washing. Carbon steel takes a razor edge and suits users who dry and oil blades after use for maximum sharpness.

Morakniv’s Scandi grind is easy to maintain on a flat hone; wipe blades clean after work, keep sheaths dry, and touch up the edge periodically to preserve the bite that makes these knives favourites in gardens and greenhouses worldwide.
