Description

Aqua One - Glass Reservoir Thermometer – Precision Liquid Temperature Monitoring

Maintaining the correct nutrient solution temperature is critical for maximizing dissolved oxygen levels and preventing root zone pathogens like Pythium. The Aqua One Glass Thermometer provides a simple, highly reliable, and battery-free solution for monitoring your reservoir’s vitals. Specifically designed for constant submersion, this thermometer allows you to ensure your feed water stays within the "goldilocks zone" (typically 18°C–20°C) for optimal nutrient uptake. With its clear, easy-to-read scale and versatile mounting options, it is an essential piece of insurance for any hydroponic or aquaponic system.

Best For: Nutrient reservoir monitoring, deep water culture (DWC) systems, propagation tanks, and aquaponic setups.

Key Features

  • High-Visibility Analog Scale: Features a clear, high-contrast temperature scale that is easy to read through water or nutrient solutions without the need for digital calibration or batteries.
  • Dual Mounting Versatility: Equipped with a heavy-duty suction cup for fixed positioning against the side of your tank, or it can be allowed to float freely to monitor surface temperatures.
  • Safety-First Construction: Manufactured from laboratory-grade glass with a weighted base to ensure it remains vertical and visible at all times.
  • Battery-Free Reliability: Unlike digital alternatives, this thermometer is always "on," providing a fail-safe backup that won't fail during critical growth phases due to electronic malfunctions or dead batteries.
  • Non-Corrosive Design: Built to withstand constant exposure to concentrated mineral salts, pH adjusters, and organic additives without degrading or leaching into your nutrient solution.
  • Compact & Unobtrusive: The slim profile allows it to fit into even the most crowded reservoirs or small-scale propagation domes without obstructing pump intakes or air stones.

Specifications

  • Brand: Aqua One
  • Material: Weighted Laboratory-Grade Glass
  • Temperature Range: 0°C to 50°C
  • Mounting: Removable Suction Cup (Included) or Floating
  • Application: Hydroponics, Aquaponics, and Aquarium use

Installation & Maintenance Tips

  • Strategic Placement: For the most accurate reading of your feed water, mount the thermometer away from your reservoir heater or the return line of your system to ensure you are measuring the "bulk" water temperature.
  • Suction Cup Prep: Before attaching the suction cup, ensure the reservoir wall is clean and free of algae or salt crust. This ensures a permanent grip that won't slip over time.
  • Routine Cleaning: During your weekly reservoir change, wipe down the glass exterior with a soft cloth to remove any nutrient film or mineral build-up. This maintains maximum visibility and ensures the thermometer reacts quickly to temperature shifts.
  • Oxygen Management: Remember that as temperatures rise above 22°C, the water's ability to hold dissolved oxygen drops significantly. Use this thermometer to determine when it's time to add an air stone or a water chiller.

Ideal For (Uses)

  • Nutrient Reservoirs: Tracking the temperature of the "main" water supply to prevent heat stress.
  • Cloning & Propagation: Ensuring your misting water stays at the ideal temperature to encourage rapid root initiation in seedlings and cuttings.
  • DWC Systems: Constant monitoring of the root zone temperature where oxygen stability is most critical.
Oversize Item Delivery

Shipping & Lead Times

Important Note on Availability & Shipping

Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.

Lead Times:

  • In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
  • Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.

While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.

Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions

Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:

  • Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
  • Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).

Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
