2 Pack - Aqua One - Non-Return Check Valve – Essential Air Pump Backflow Protection
Safeguard your electrical assets and prevent catastrophic reservoir drainage with the Aqua One Non-Return Check Valve Twin Pack. An absolute necessity for any automated indoor grow setup, these precision-engineered inline valves ensure that air or fluid can travel in one direction only. When running high-volume aeration arrays in your nutrient tanks, positioning an air pump beside or below the water line creates a natural siphon risk. If a power failure occurs or the pump is turned off for tank maintenance, water will immediately siphon backward down the line, destroying your electronic air pump and flooding your facility floor. Installing an Aqua One check valve creates an instant, mechanical seal that stops water coming back down the air tube the moment line pressure drops.
Best For: Inline protection for deep water culture (DWC) lines, primary nutrient reservoir aeration networks, automated cloning loops, and any setup where air pumps sit below the water level.
Key Features
- Absolute One-Way Flow Security: Internally engineered with a responsive, spring-loaded mechanical diaphragm that breaks down fluid reverse-flow instantly while offering minimal resistance to forward air pump pressure.
- Critical Asset Protection: Stops water coming back down the air tube, entirely eliminating the risk of electrical short-circuits, blown pump diaphragms, or ruined electronic equipment caused by backflow contamination.
- Heavy-Duty Twin Pack Profile: Dispatches as a convenient 2-pack bundle, allowing you to instantly dual-protect multi-outlet air pumps or secure separate propagation tanks simultaneously.
- Chemically Inert Chassis: Constructed from high-impact, UV-stabilised polymer components that resist degradation when exposed to humid grow rooms or mineral-dense hydroponic solutions.
- Universal Inline Fitment: Designed with standard tapered barbed ends that grip firmly into standard flexible 4mm internal diameter (ID) air line tubing without requiring zip-ties or specialized tooling.

Nursery Layout & Backflow Management Tips
- Verifying Correct Flow Orientation: Check valves are directional and will completely block air if installed backward. Look closely at the polymer body of the Aqua One valve for a small stamped arrow indicating the direction of airflow. Install the valve so the arrow points away from your electronic air pump and toward your **HydroBitz Golf Ball Air Stone** or reservoir diffuser ring.
- Optimal Placement Distance: For maximum layout safety, slice your standard 4mm air line and mount the check valve roughly 15–20cm away from the air pump's outlet nozzle, rather than right against the tank wall. This keeps the valve easily accessible for quick visual checks and ensures that any initial moisture droplets remain safely upstream of your electrical cords.
- Securing a Leak-Free Compressive Seal: When pressing your flexible 4mm vinyl air hose over the check valve's barbed ends, ensure it slides completely over the retention lip. If the tubing is stiff or cold, submerge the tip of the hose in a cup of warm water for 10 seconds. This temporarily softens the vinyl, allowing you to seat it perfectly onto the valve for an airtight, high-pressure seal.
- Annual Structural Maintenance Loop: Over months of driving continuous air through humid growing spaces, fine dust, salt crust, or nutrient mist can slowly accumulate inside the internal diaphragm chamber. Inspect your check valves between crops by gently blowing through them. If you notice increased resistance or minor backward air leaking, swap them out immediately to preserve peak performance and keep your facility completely protected.
Ideal For (Uses)
- Low-Profile Reservoir Layouts: Providing mandatory structural insurance when your master air pumps must be positioned on the floor alongside or underneath large staging tanks.
- Commercial Deep Water Culture (DWC): Protecting heavy-duty multi-outlet linear air pumps running multi-row commercial bucket configurations from localized back-siphoning events.
- Propagation & Nursery Staging: Maintaining continuous safety on high-frequency cutting decks and automated cloning domes during scheduled system resets or emergency power shutdowns.

Important Note on Availability & Shipping
Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.
Lead Times:
- In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
- Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.
While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.
Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions
Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:
- Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
- Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).
Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
