Description

Adloheat - Shade Cloth Half Covers (2400mm Wide Series) – Seasonal Thermal Protection Overlays

Protect your primary greenhouse investment and optimize your internal canopy microclimate with the Adloheat Shade Cloth Half Cover system. Purpose-engineered to overlay seamlessly onto our standard 2400mm (8') wide hot houses, these high-durability seasonal skins act as a sacrificial shield against intense summer solar spikes, heavy UV degradation, and localized storm elements. Manufactured from premium, weather-stabilized monofilament shade cloth fabric, these half covers give you the absolute flexibility to throttle back intense solar radiation during punishing peak-summer months. By reducing ambient internal temperatures and preventing leaf scorch, they keep your underlying full-length Solashield skin operating effectively for decades. Designed for rapid deployment and quick, tool-free seasonal removal, they allow you to easily adapt your growing facility to shifting regional weather patterns and store the cover away out of the sun when maximum light transmission is required during the darker winter months.

Best For: Preventing mid-summer heat stress in wider-format structures, extending the operational lifespan of primary hot house covers, diffusing intense direct sunlight, and providing highly flexible, seasonal shade modifications to standard growing structures.

Key Features & Technical Advancements

  • Sacrificial Full-Skin Protection: Acts as a heavy-duty physical buffer over your primary Solashield cover, intercepting destructive solar UV rays, blistering heat spikes, and wind-borne debris to drastically double the life of your underlying cladding.
  • Tailored Structural Mounting Kits: Shipped complete with our specialized, high-tension frame buttons and integrated fixing loops, ensuring a secure, wind-resistant fitment that will not flap or chafe against the structural frames.
  • High-Tensile Monofilament Knit: Crafted using premium, UV-stabilized monofilament fibers engineered to resist fiber fraying, wind tearing, and agricultural chemical breakdown while delivering consistent, reliable shade values.
  • Two High-Utility Architectural Cuts: Available in a streamlined, open-ended Thro-Over style for rapid top-and-side deployment, or an upgraded Fitted Ends design for comprehensive 360-degree mid-wall solar shielding.
  • Rapid Seasonal Adaptability: Lightweight material composition makes the half cover exceptionally simple to drape, anchor, remove, and fold down into a compact profile for clean storage during low-light winter cycles.

  • Thro-Over with Fitted Ends Variant: Provides extended protection by dropping mid-way down the long sides while incorporating custom-tailored front and back end panels to shade the upper shoulders of your doorway and rear end walls completely.

Available Size Extensions & Enclosure Fitment

  • 2400mm Wide x 1800mm Long (8' x 6'): Tailored to fit wide starter hot houses, perfect for protecting localized seed-striking zones.
  • 2400mm Wide x 2690mm Long (8' x 9'): Sized perfectly to match mid-length structures, balancing localized shade with clean structural tracking.
  • 2400mm Wide x 3580mm Long (8' x 12'): Engineered for high-yield extended residential structures, distributing diffuse light evenly over long multi-tier bench rows.
  • 2400mm Wide x 4470mm Long (8' x 15'): Ideal for medium-to-large setups requiring reliable temperature mitigation across an expansive footprint.
  • 2400mm Wide x 5360mm Long (8' x 18'): Developed for extended footprints, ensuring uniform light filtration over a massive workspace canopy.
  • 2400mm Wide x 6250mm Long (8' x 21'): High-capacity commercial span protecting larger propagation and crop production layouts.
  • 2400mm Wide x 7140mm Long (8' x 24'): Our maximum-length coverage layout designed to manage continuous light-sensitive yields or commercial nursery installations.

Nursery Layout & Environmental Optimisation Tips

  • Substrate Protection & Fluid Integration: Dropping a 50% or 70% shade cloth over your hot house instantly reduces canopy transpiration rates and slows down substrate dry-out times. When your cover is active, closely monitor your plants growing on the benches in breathable fabric aeration pots packed with a 70/30 blend of **Coco Coir and Horticultural Perlite**. Fine-tune your automated drip line frequencies using your **Plont PPH Submersible Pump** controller to prevent over-saturating the root zone while the shade cloth is cooling the house.
  • Secure Button Mounting Loops: When installing the frame buttons, space them evenly along the galvanised frame lines using the provided fixing loops. Tension the lines snugly to ensure the shade cloth remains held taut above the primary Solashield skin. This prevents the two layers from rubbing excessively against each other during heavy afternoon wind gusts, minimizing abrasive wear on both covers.
  • Seasonal Storage Rotation Care: When autumn arrives and you remove the half cover to restore full 85.6% solar light transmission to your crops, ensure the cloth is completely dry and free of organic debris. Fold the cover down cleanly and store it inside a dark, protected storage box away from direct sunlight and pests, keeping the fibers pristine for the following spring deployment.

Ideal For (Uses)

  • Summer Crop Steering: An essential modular tool for craft growers who need to temporarily drop ambient greenhouse temperatures to prevent delicate vegetable lines and exotic flowers from bolting or stalling in mid-summer.
  • Sensitive Crop Acclimation: Provides a gentle, diffused nursery zone perfect for protecting young seedlings, unrooted cuttings, or high-value orchids that cannot handle raw, direct summer sun rays.
  • Preventative Asset Maintenance: The ideal investment for commercial or home growers looking to maximize the return on their primary greenhouse structure by shielding the permanent cover from severe environmental weathering.

Shipping & Lead Times

Important Note on Availability & Shipping

Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.

Lead Times:

  • In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
  • Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.

While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.

Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions

Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:

  • Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
  • Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).

Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
