Aqua Master Tools - E300 Pro Handheld Digital Substrate EC & Temperature Meter – Heavy-Duty Soil, Coco, & Medium Penetration Probe
Take absolute control over your root-zone salinity and monitor precise salt concentrations directly at the core with the Aqua Master Tools E300 Pro Handheld Digital Substrate EC & Temperature Meter. Custom-engineered for the demanding environments of commercial indoor vertical farms, automated greenhouse complexes, and container nurseries, this premium field instrument is designed to measure electrical conductivity (EC) and temperature directly inside soft substrates, moist soil blends, coco coir matrices, and liquid nutrient reservoirs. Pocket meters built exclusively for open water testing cannot withstand the physical pressure of being forced into compressed growing mediums. The E300 Pro resolves this operational vulnerability by decoupling the heavy-duty, near-unbreakable EC electrode from the main digital housing, linking them with an extended, ultra-flexible 90cm connection cable. This durable setup gives you the physical reach to sample ground beds, deep fabric pots, and low-tier drainage trays with ease. Outfitted with streamlined internal circuitry, the E300 Pro tracks total dissolved fertilizer salts across a wide range from 0.0 to 19.9 mS/cm and monitors temperatures from 0°C to 50°C. Setup is incredibly fast thanks to a 1-point automatic calibration routine pre-programmed for standard 1413 μS/cm (or 1.4 mS/cm) reference solutions, eliminating manual tuning screws and complicated configuration menus. Packed into a robust, lightweight 171g frame wrapped in a high-traction, ergonomic rubber-backed housing, this complete kit features a modular, user-replaceable electrode socket that allows you to easily swap out aged or damaged probes down the road, ensuring long-term usability and maximizing your facility's equipment investment.
Best For: Direct root-zone electrical conductivity monitoring in soil and coco coir mixes, tracking salt accumulation in rockwool slabs, measuring run-off strength, and high-efficiency multi-zone facility inspections.
Key Features & Technical Advancements
- Extended 90cm Flexible Probe Lead: Outfitted with a long, heavy-duty connection cable that gives you the freedom to reach deep into large containers or high-tier vertical racks without straining the meter body.
- Near-Unbreakable EC Substrate Probe: Features a rugged, industrial-grade electrode housing shaped to slide smoothly into soft substrates, moist growing media, and compost layers without risk of snapping.
- Dual Telemetry EC & Thermal Analysis: Monitors fluid and substrate electrical conductivity (0.0 to 19.9 mS/cm) and temperature (0°C to 50°C) simultaneously, ensuring your nutrient strength stays in the target zone.
- Rapid 1-Point Automatic Calibration: Features built-in digital auto-tuning calibrated to standard 1413 μS/cm reference fluid, keeping your readings sharp and reliable without manual adjustment tools.
- Ergonomic Rubber-Backed Housing: Outfitted with a specialized rubberized casing that provides excellent traction and comfort in wet environments, reducing slips and drop risks during busy facility rounds.
- Modular Replaceable Probe Assembly: Designed for long-term, low-maintenance usage; easily detach and replace the EC sensor lead if it becomes worn or mechanically damaged over multiple seasons.

Advanced Substrate Conditioning & Nutrient Testing Tips
- Preventing Tip Burn and Nutrient Toxicity with Precision EC: Giving your plants too many mineral salts causes toxic build-ups, leading to root stress and curled, crispy leaf tips. When preparing liquid fertilizers or checking media blocks, use the E300 Pro to confirm the exact strength of your mix. Keep young seedlings or newly rooted cuttings in a light 0.6 to 1.0 mS/cm range, mid-stage vegetative plants around 1.2 to 1.6 mS/cm, and heavy-feeding flowering crops between 1.8 to 2.5 mS/cm depending on your genetics and light intensity.
- Root-Zone Hydration and Substrate Coordination: Keeping your medium's chemical profile balanced allows your root network to absorb nutrients at peak efficiency. For the best structural airflow and fast nutrient uptake, pair your substrate measurements with a high-porosity 70/30 blend of Coco Coir and Horticultural Perlite. To keep moisture levels flawlessly uniform across large benches, feed your trays with a high-pressure Plont PPH Submersible Pump managed by an automated digital shot-timer.
- Executing the Single-Point Digital Auto-Calibration Protocol: To keep your E300 Pro working within its strict ±2% EC accuracy rating, run a calibration check every two weeks. Pour a small amount of fresh, unpolluted 1413 μS/cm calibration fluid into a clean plastic cup, dip the sensor tip into the liquid, and engage the automatic 1-point calibration routine. Once the screen locks in the reading, rinse the sensor with clean water before storage. Always dump used testing fluid to prevent cross-contamination of your main calibration bottle.
- Safe Probe Cleaning and Maintenance Routines: Unlike pH probes, the conductivity sensor elements on the E300 Pro substrate electrode are robust metal rings that do not need to stay wet during storage. However, they must be kept totally free of fertilizer crusts, salt crystals, and oily organic residues. After completing your daily water or substrate checks, rinse the sensor under clean tap water. If you notice salt build-up, soak the tip in specialized digital probe cleaner or isopropyl alcohol for a few minutes, then scrub gently with a soft brush to restore perfect electrical contact.
Ideal For (Uses)

Important Note on Availability & Shipping
Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.
Lead Times:
- In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
- Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.
While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.
Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions
Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:
- Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
- Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).
Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
