System Layout & Cultivation Tips

• Substrate Blending Guide: For optimal capillary wicking, fill your 10" pots with an open, high-aeration mix. A 50/50 blend of premium **Coco Coir** and **Horticultural Perlite**, or a 50/50 mix of organic soil and **Hydro Clay LECA** pebbles works perfectly. Avoid using pure, dense soil or fine coco peat standalone, as they retain too much moisture.
• Reservoir Elevation: To generate sufficient gravitational pressure to snap all four Smart Valves open and shut cleanly, always position the bottom of the 35-litre supply tank at least 150mm (15cm) higher than the highest Hydrotray base.
• The Pre-Staging Phase: Always hand-water your young seedlings or rooted cuttings from the top for the first 7–10 days while they sit outside the system. Once white roots have established deep enough to reach the bottom of the 10" pots, transfer them into the Hydrotrays and activate the main gravity line.
• Clean Reservoir Management: Stick to clean, highly soluble mineral-based hydroponic nutrients. Refrain from adding thick organic compounds, liquid kelps, or unstable compost teas to the central tank, as these will settle, ferment, and clog the narrow 4mm feeding lines over time.
