Description

Tropicoir Precision Coir Bale - 4.5kg Compressed Block - Professional Horticultural Growing Medium

The Tropicoir Precision Coir Bale is a premium, commercial-grade compressed growth substrate engineered for technical horticultural setups, commercial nurseries, and intensive soft fruit propagation. Composed of 100% fine coir pith with select coarse fibres systematically removed, this highly refined block offers superior structural uniformity. When hydrated, this compact 4.5kg bale expands to an impressive volume of approximately 65 Litres of light, fluffy, and highly absorbent growing medium, delivering a predictable and high-performance base for sensitive root zones.

Optimised to maintain a precise balance between hydration and drainage, the block delivers a documented 10% Air-Filled Porosity (AFP) and 70% Water-Holding Capacity (WHC). This highly engineered matrix prevents media compaction and slumping, facilitating rapid lateral root branching and continuous gas exchange. With a stable, low electrical conductivity (EC) profile of approximately -1.5mS/cm, it provides a clean slate for custom nutrient regimes, shielding delicate young root cells from salinity stress and transplant shock.

Best For: Production nurseries, commercial soft fruit orchardists, hydroponic facilities, and advanced market gardeners who require a clean, low-EC, premium coir pith substrate for propagation trays, potting blends, and soft fruit cultivation.

Key Features:

  • Precision 65-Litre Volume Expansion: The highly compressed 4.5kg block hydrates rapidly to yield approximately 65 Litres of professional-grade planting media, maximising logistics and storage efficiency.
  • Optimised Moisture & Air Balance: Engineered to lock in a dependable 70% Water-Holding Capacity alongside a 10% Air-Filled Porosity, ensuring roots stay perfectly hydrated without risking structural asphyxiation.
  • Refined Fine Pith Composition: Undergoes advanced screening to filter out excessive, unruly fibres, providing a uniform matrix that settles evenly into small propagation cells and multi-cell plugs.
  • Low Salinity EC Profile: Pre-washed and monitored to maintain an organic base EC of approximately -1.5mS/cm, minimizing chemical interference and allowing growers total control over fertigation inputs.
  • Chemical & Fertiliser Free: Contains 100% organic coconut pith fibre with zero artificial additives, making it completely safe for delicate berry clones, vegetable starts, and organic cropping arrays.

Primary Cultivation & Field Applications

  • Commercial Soft Fruit Propagation: Formulated specifically to drive root initiation and structural vigour in soft fruit lines, including strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries.
  • High-Density Cell Tray Seeding: Providing an uncompacted, uniform substrate for filling massive commercial propagation cells, plugs, and seedling flats.
  • Custom Potting Blends: Utilised as a premium standalone organic medium or blended into bark and perlite matrices to increase the moisture-retention metrics of generic premium potting mixes.
  • Hydroponic & Greenhouse Production: Serving as a pristine, predictable sterile substrate for greenhouse bench cropping, vertical bag cultivation, and out-of-ground hydroponic food production.

Pro Tip & Rehydration Management: To expand the 4.5kg bale quickly and evenly, place the compressed block into a clean, large-volume blending tub or wheelbarrow. Gradually add roughly 20 to 25 Litres of lukewarm water directly over the top of the bale. Allow the block to absorb the fluid for 15 minutes, then use a clean garden fork or a hand-trowel to easily break apart any remaining compressed core sections into a completely fluffy, uniform layout.

Because this premium coir pith arrives entirely unfertilised, always charge the hydrated medium with a low-strength, balanced liquid nutrient solution during your first watering cycle to establish an ideal foundational fertility layer for your young plugs.

Shipping & Lead Times

Important Note on Availability & Shipping

Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.

Lead Times:

  • In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
  • Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.

While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.

Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions

Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:

  • Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
  • Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).

Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
