Description

Eco-Organic Garden Guardians – Organic Crop Protectants (OCP) Book

The Garden Guardians is the definitive guide to organic pest and disease management for the modern gardener. Produced by Organic Crop Protectants (OCP), this book serves as a comprehensive "field guide" to identifying the good, the bad, and the ugly in your garden. It shifts the focus from chemical warfare to integrated pest management (IPM), teaching you how to encourage beneficial "guardian" insects to do the work for you. Packed with high-quality photographs and easy-to-follow advice, this book is an essential resource for anyone committed to growing a healthy, chemical-free ecosystem in their own backyard.

Best For Organic gardeners, students of horticulture, and eco-conscious homeowners who want to identify backyard insects and treat plant diseases without harming the environment.

Key Features

  • Expert Identification Guide: Features vivid, full-color photography to help you distinguish between destructive pests and the beneficial "Garden Guardians" that prey on them.

  • Organic Solution Focused: Provides non-toxic strategies and natural remedies for the most common garden problems, ensuring your yard remains safe for bees, pets, and children.

  • Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Teaches the principles of biodiversity—explaining how to plant specific species to attract ladybirds, lacewings, and predatory wasps.

  • Comprehensive Coverage: Covers a wide array of topics including fungal diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and soil health, moving beyond just insect control.

  • Australian Garden Context: Specifically tailored to common issues found in Australian and residential gardens, making the advice highly relevant and practical.

Specifications

  • Publisher: Organic Crop Protectants (OCP)

  • Format: Softcover / Reference Book

  • Topic: Organic Gardening / Entomology / Plant Pathology

  • Content: Full-color photos, pest profiles, and organic treatment charts

Ideal For (Uses)

  • Backyard Diagnosis: Use it as a handy reference to take into the garden when you spot an unknown bug or a strange spot on your citrus leaves.

  • Educational Tool: A fantastic resource for teaching children about nature and the fascinating life cycles of the insects living in their environment.

  • Sustainable Planning: Designing a "Guardian-friendly" garden by understanding which plants provide the best habitat for beneficial bugs.

  • Reducing Chemical Use: Transitioning away from synthetic pesticides by learning preventative organic maintenance techniques.

Pro Tip: Keep this book near your garden shed or potting bench. The best time to catch a pest outbreak is in its early stages; by identifying a "bad" bug before it multiplies, you can often manage the situation with simple manual removal or a light organic spray.

Shipping & Lead Times

Important Note on Availability & Shipping

Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.

Lead Times:

  • In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
  • Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.

While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.

Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions

Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:

  • Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
  • Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).

Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
