Flairform - Professional pH 4.00 Buffer Solution (250mL & 1L Bottles) – NIST-Traceable Acidic Standard Reference Calibration Fluid with Anti-Microbial Stabilisers

Secure absolute telemetry integrity, eliminate sensory measurement drift, and safeguard your crop from catastrophic chemical imbalances with Flairform Professional pH 4.00 Buffer Solution. Explicitly engineered to satisfy the rigid quality control tolerances of commercial vertical indoor farms, high-yield greenhouse ranges, and strict agricultural testing laboratories, this premium reference standard provides the vital acidic baseline (pH 4.00 at 25°c) required to complete precise two-point calibration routines. In active hydroponic systems, maintaining a tight, optimal pH range is essential for maximum plant nutrient uptake. If an inline manifold probe, digital testing pen, or portable combo meter drifts over time, it misleads your team regarding water chemistry parameters, risking critical root-zone burn or severe nutrient lockout. This professional buffer fluid completely eliminates those tracking vulnerabilities. Formulated using premium, **NIST-specified (National Institute of Standards and Technology) ingredients**, this standard fluid guarantees a highly stable reference target. It is uniquely enhanced with advanced **anti-microbial stabilisers** that actively resist algae formation and mould growth, ensuring your backup fluids stay clean, free of organic contaminants, and perfectly preserved on your facility's tool rack. Available in convenient **250mL maintenance bottles** for mobile, on-the-floor diagnostics, or high-capacity **1-litre commercial jugs** to keep multi-zone facilities fully stocked through long crop cycles, Flairform's solution ensures your testing hardware standardises perfectly week after week.

Best For: Executing critical secondary-point (pH 4.00) slope calibrations on digital testing pens, overhauling drifted handheld combo meters, resetting wall-mounted continuous dashboards, and maintaining clean, algae-free diagnostic tool racks.

Key Features & Technical Advancements

  • NIST-Traceable Metric Accuracy: Formulated using raw laboratory compounds certified to National Institute of Standards and Technology targets, guaranteeing an exact reference standard.
  • Anti-Microbial Growth Stabilisation: Specially treated to block the development of algae, mould, and bacterial films inside the bottle, preventing organic contaminants from fouling your delicate electrode faces.
  • Vital Two-Point Slope Calibration Link: Provides the critical acidic reference point ($pH\ 4.00$) required by digital microcomputers to accurately program electrode tracking arcs and scale parameters.
  • Universal pH Hardware Compatibility: Engineered to work seamlessly with all major brands of analytical water testing gear, including Aqua Master Tools pens, Bluelab meters, and automated dosing manifolds.
  • Residue-Free Clean Contacting: Formulated with premium mineral buffers that wash away cleanly with fresh water, leaving zero sticky films or crystal deposits on sensitive glass sensing bulbs.
  • Dual-Volume Commercial Packaging Options: Available in convenient 250mL bottles for quick, on-the-floor diagnostics, or high-capacity 1-litre bottles to keep multi-zone facilities stocked through long crop cycles.

Advanced Sensor Calibration & Substrate Control Tips

  • Executing a Flawless Decanting and Calibration Routine: To keep your master bottle completely clean and unpolluted, never dip your testing sensors directly into the jug. Decant a small 20 to 30mL sample of the pH 4.00 fluid into a clean, dry plastic cup. Wash your sensor with dedicated electrode cleaner first to strip away organic biofilms and mineral scale, then rinse with fresh water. Blot the plastic casing completely dry with a clean microfiber towel—any residual rinse water clinging to the probe will dilute your testing sample, pulling the pH away from 4.00 and ruining your calibration accuracy. Plunge the dry sensor into the cup, wait 60 to 90 seconds for the internal thermometer to reach structural equilibrium with the fluid, and lock your meter's pH 4.00 slope point. Discard the used testing fluid immediately; never return used liquid to the master bottle.
  • Root-Zone Hydration and Substrate Coordination: Keeping your testing wands and inline dosing loops perfectly calibrated ensures your automated systems track and balance water chemistry with total precision. For optimal root vitality, accelerated nutrient absorption, and uncompromised drainage, route your perfectly tracked fertiliser recipes into a high-porosity 70/30 blend of Coco Coir and Horticultural Perlite. To maintain highly uniform moisture profiles across your entire bench layout, pressurise your feed lines using a heavy-duty Plont PPH Submersible Pump managed by an automated digital shot-timer.
  • Understanding the Core Threat of Algae Foul-Up on Software: Algae and bacterial films inside cheap calibration fluids pose a major threat to your monitoring hardware. When organic growths attach to your probes during testing, they coat the sensor faces and alter your instrument's baseline software slope calculations. Once this biofilm insulates the probe, your data drifts so far out of bounds that the digital console can no longer adjust, leading to failed calibration messages or screen lockouts. Using Flairform's stabilised, algae-resistant fluid keeps your reference samples pure, protecting your digital equipment from software tracking limits.
  • The Golden Rule of a Two-Point Calibration Sequence: A single-point calibration check is not enough to guarantee accuracy across the wide chemical swings of active hydroponic reservoirs. To ensure your digital hardware tracks accurately across both acidic and alkaline environments, always run a two-point calibration routine. Always start with a pH 7.00 buffer solution to lock in the true center baseline (the intercept value). Next, rinse the probe thoroughly, dry it, and submerge it in the Flairform pH 4.00 buffer solution to program the meter's span value. Running this two-point reset creates a highly reliable, linear tracking arc for your equipment's software.

Ideal For (Uses)

  • Secondary-Point Slope Balancing: The essential calibration fluid selection for greenhouse facility operators looking to lock in the mandatory pH 4.00 secondary target on digital pens and handheld combo meters.
  • Dosing Controller System Troubleshooting: Ideal for technical cultivation teams who need to correct slow tracking metrics, frozen display screens, or calibration errors on automated mixing boards during acidic range balancing.
  • Commercial Facility Compliance Logging: An exceptional component choice for large-scale commercial agricultural facilities, vertical indoor farms, and research laboratories that require documented, NIST-traceable calibration routines.

Oversize Item Delivery

Oversized Item Delivery Options

Oversized, heavy, and structural goods ship via specialist freight. Freight is calculated at checkout from estimated packaged volumetric or physical weight. Carrier depot audits may adjust the rate — if the increase exceeds 10%, we will contact you before processing.

Available options include:

✔ Delivery to your closest depot for pickup — default method
✔ Direct delivery — requires an operational forklift on site unless Tailgate Delivery has been specifically requested and quoted (contact us — this cannot be selected at checkout)
✔ Tailgate hydraulic lift delivery — must be specifically requested; contact us for a quote (not available as a checkout option; extra fees apply; required if you do not have a forklift)
✔ Forklift loading at our warehouse (no extra charge if you arrange your own freight)
✔ Direct truck delivery (available in Victoria)

Important Notes:

  • Shipping costs vary by location and method
  • Any carton or consignment over 25–30kg (or over 200cm) must be palletised
  • Without a specifically requested and paid Tailgate Delivery quote, palletised freight requires a forklift on site — otherwise the carrier will redirect to the nearest depot
  • Bulky and oversized items cannot be delivered to a PO Box — provide a physical street address
  • Failed deliveries, locked gates, unattended sites, or incorrect business/forklift declarations may incur carrier redelivery, demurrage, and restocking fees as set out in our Terms & Conditions

Business Delivery:

  • Selecting a business/commercial delivery rate warrants that the address has an operational forklift and certified operator during business hours
  • If the carrier cannot unload, the consignment may be redirected to a depot and secondary fees may apply
  • Additional fees may apply for failed delivery attempts due to lack of appropriate unloading equipment

See our Terms & Conditions (Article 8) for full freight and delivery rules.

Shipping & Lead Times

Important Note on Availability & Shipping

Our warehouse is a logistics hub, not a retail showroom. Listing a product online does not mean it is stored at our Thomastown warehouse — many lines ship from supplier hubs (split fulfilment may apply).

How lead times work:

  • Product page ETA: The Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) / lead-time badge shown on the product page at checkout is the agreed delivery timeframe for that order under Australian Consumer Law.
  • Metro baselines: Advertised ETAs apply to standard metropolitan zones. Regional and remote addresses may take longer and may attract surcharges.
  • Peak seasons: Orders in March–May, August–October, EOFY (June), Black Friday/Cyber Monday (November), and Christmas/New Year (December–January) may automatically add a 2–4 week buffer beyond the product page ETA.
  • Supplier-dependent / backordered items: If stock is delayed, we will notify you with a revised ETA. You then have 7 days to accept the new timeframe or cancel for a full refund.
  • Adloheat: Custom-made products from Adloheat (Pakenham, VIC) may take 4–12 weeks depending on the order.

Full fulfilment, cancellation, and freight rules are in our Terms & Conditions.
