Lumatek - 50W Far-Red LED Supplemental Bar – Targeted Photosynthetic Enhancement Strip
Maximize your canopy's genetic potential and accelerate flowering cycles with the Lumatek 50W Far-Red LED Bar. Specifically engineered as a high-performance supplemental light strip, this unit is designed to bolt directly onto the structural chassis of the industry-standard Lumatek Zeus LED fixture frames. Its primary biological function is to systematically stretch the standard Zeus full-spectrum range from [400-700] nm up to a wider, metabolically active [400-750] nm waveband. By bombarding your cultivation space with precise far-red photons, this bar triggers specialized plant photoreceptors, manipulating your crop's internal morphological responses. Built to endure harsh, high-humidity indoor nursery environments, the bar features a completely sealed, industrial IP65 waterproof and dustproof exterior architecture. It operates flawlessly as a plug-and-play extension tool for advanced commercial operators and craft indoor hobbyists seeking to fine-tune their light recipes, shorten flowering transition windows, and drive higher harvest weight yields.
Best For: Enhancing standard full-spectrum LED fixtures, triggering the Emerson enhancement effect, accelerating reproductive flower transitions, modifying shade avoidance responses, and maximizing canopy penetration in high-density indoor cultivation facilities.
Key Features & Technical Advancements
- Zeus Structural Integration: Features custom mounting clips designed to lock directly onto popular Lumatek Zeus modular fixture frames, creating a unified, rigid overhead lighting array without messy custom rigging.
- Targeted Far-Red Spectrum (730 nm Range): Packed with premium, high-efficiency far-red diodes that bridge the critical gap between traditional PAR light and near-infrared spectrums, optimizing plant phytochrome equilibrium.
- Ultra-Wide 140° Photometric Beam: Engineered with a broad 140° light distribution lens profile, delivering uniform, widespread crossover blending with your primary lighting footprint rather than focusing destructive hot spots.
- Industrial IP65 Environmental Seal: Enclosed in a rugged, moisture-sealed chassis that provides absolute dust exclusion and high-pressure water spray resistance, ensuring total electrical safety above heavy overhead misting or foliar spray routines.
- Long-Life L90 Thermal Management: Boasts a heavy-duty passive cooling topology rated for L90 greater than 45,000 hours, ensuring the far-red diodes retain a minimum of 90% of their initial photon output over years of continuous operation.

Advanced Photobiology & Crop Steering Tips
- The Emerson Enhancement Effect: When far-red light (730 nm) is delivered simultaneously with standard red light (660 nm), the photosynthetic rate of your crop increases significantly more than the combined sum of the two wavelengths running independently. This happens because far-red photons clear bottleneck points between Photosystem I (PSI) and Photosystem II (PSII), driving aggressive ATP production.
- End-of-Day (EOD) Shading Triggers: To accelerate flower induction, run the 50W Far-Red Bar for 10–15 minutes immediately after your main full-spectrum lights turn off. This burst tricks the plant's phytochrome photoreceptors from their active form (Pfr) into their inactive form (Pr) instantly. Skipping the natural multi-hour dark conversion process lets you manipulate the plant's internal night clock, potentially shortening the flowering cycle by up to 7–10 days over a full run.
- Shade Avoidance Morphogenesis: Supplementing far-red light during the vegetative or early flowering stretch triggers the "shade avoidance response." The crop senses a high ratio of far-red to red photons (mimicking natural forest canopy shade), causing it to expand its leaf surface areas and lengthen internodal spacing. Use this tool strategically to maximize canopy surface areas before initiating intense floral production.
- Substrate & Automated Fluid Syncing: Metabolic acceleration from far-red photon exposure increases your crop's water and nutrient uptake. Ensure your root zones stay fully supported by growing in clean aeration fabric pots packed with a 70/30 blend of Coco Coir and Horticultural Perlite. Automate this high-frequency feeding schedule by plumbing a clean micro-drip manifold powered by a high-pressure Plont PPH Submersible Pump out of a central nutrient reservoir.
Ideal For (Uses)
- Zeus Spectrum Expansion: The absolute best choice for existing owners of Lumatek Zeus fixtures who want to upgrade their standard PAR spectrum into a full-spectrum + far-red powerhouse without replacing entire light systems.
- Flowering Cycle Acceleration: Perfect for high-intensity indoor cultivation facilities seeking to increase annual harvest rotations by reducing the time required for crops to transition and finish their reproductive cycles.
- Phytochrome Equilibrium Control: An indispensable tool for commercial crop steering specialists who use precise light recipes to control plant architecture, node stack counts, and secondary metabolite expressions.
Oversized Item Delivery Options
Since oversized items require special handling, we may need to provide a custom freight quote for your order and will contact you with an updated shipping rate.
Available options include:
✔ Delivery to your closest depot for pickup - default method
✔ Direct delivery - requires forklift on site
✔ Direct delivery with tailgate lift truck (extra fees apply)
✔ Forklift loading at our warehouse (no extra charge if you arrange your own freight)
✔ Direct truck delivery (available in Victoria)
Important Notes:
- Shipping costs vary by location and method
- Because of the forklift requirement, delivery to the nearest depot is the default option and will be the method used unless you contact us to request otherwise.
- Bulky and oversized items cannot be delivered to a PO Box - please provide a physical street address for delivery.
Business Delivery:
- Business delivery is available for commercial customers only
- If you select business delivery and your products are bulky, it is your responsibility to ensure you have appropriate equipment (including forklifts) to unload products from the delivery truck
- If you select business delivery and you are not a business, you risk your product not being delivered and may incur additional fees to retrieve your order
- Business delivery customers must provide a valid business address and contact information
- Additional fees may apply for failed delivery attempts due to lack of appropriate unloading equipment
Let us know your preference, and we'll arrange the best solution for you!
Important Note on Availability & Shipping
Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.
Lead Times:
- In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
- Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.
While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.
Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions
Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:
- Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
- Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).
Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
