Lumatek - 630W CMH Intelligent Controllable Ballast – High-Capacity Commercial Double-Ended Low-Frequency Agro System
Maximize your commercial facility’s canopy footprint, accelerate crop maturation, and scale up secondary metabolite extraction with the heavy-duty Lumatek 630W CMH Controllable Ballast. Ceramic Discharge Metal Halide (CMH) technology delivers intense, high-energy photosynthetic photon flux (PPF/PAR) while producing a significantly lower thermal footprint per watt than legacy high-pressure sodium or traditional metal halide fixtures. Operating with a superb Color Rendering Index (CRI) of greater than 90%, this professional-grade solid-state system projects a rich, sun-mimicking light spectrum filled with essential ultraviolet (UV-A and UV-B) and deep-red wavelengths. This full-spectrum output creates the ideal conditions for growing premium, high-yield produce while driving heavy trichome density, resin production, and essential oil accumulation. Custom-engineered to strike the perfect arc when paired with a high-output Lumatek 630W Double-Ended (DE) CMH lamp, the ballast utilizes an advanced digital microprocessor and low-frequency, square-wave driving logic to eliminate acoustic resonance and high-frequency arc flicker. Built with an elite energy-conversion efficiency rating of 96%, this fixture minimizes wasted energy and limits ambient room heat. The ballast also includes dedicated digital control link ports and a high-precision three-step dimming matrix (80%, 90%, and 100% output), allowing commercial facility managers to daisy-chain multiple units and orchestrate automated, large-scale facility scheduling from a single centralized digital lighting controller.
Best For: Large-scale commercial flowering facilities, high-yield double-ended canopy arrays, automated multi-fixture facility grids, and maximizing terpene and essential oil extraction quality.
Key Features & Technical Advancements
- Advanced Double-Ended (DE) Engineering: Built specifically to ignite and monitor premium 630W double-ended CMH lamps, supplying balanced, high-intensity photon distribution across expansive canopy layouts.
- Sun-Mimicking Spectrum with High UV Output: Emits an ultra-broad spectrum rich in natural solar wavelengths, prompting plants to build stronger cell walls, tighter node spacing, and much higher essential oil density.
- Low-Frequency Square Wave Stability: Microprocessor-regulated logic drives the lamp with a highly stable square wave pattern, eliminating arc instability, preventing harmonic distortion, and extending the operational life of the bulb.
- High-Efficiency 96% Solid-State Performance: Converts 96% of drawn power directly into active lamp current, helping commercial vertical farms slash overall electrical overhead and lower room cooling costs.
- Integrated Multi-Fixture Control Port: Outfitted with dedicated signal connection terminals, allowing you to daisy-chain multiple ballasts together for centralized control over sunrise/sunset timing and thermal safety backups.
- 3-Step Variable Dimming Matrix: Offers precise canopy management with selectable power options at 80%, 90%, and 100% output, letting you scale back light intensity during transitional plant phases or high-temperature days.
- Comprehensive Smart-Circuit Protection Failsafes: Outfitted with advanced automated safety circuits that instantly isolate power during short circuits, open circuits, over-temperature events, over-voltage spikes, or lamp ignition failures.

Advanced CMH Spectrum Control & Substrate Coordination Tips
- Optimizing Hang Heights and Canopy Coverage: Because the Lumatek 630W DE ballast outputs a highly concentrated, heavy-duty photon footprint, proper vertical distance is vital to avoid heat stress or leaf bleaching. Position the fixture 65cm to 80cm above the plant tops during early transitional growth phases while utilizing the 80% or 90% dimming steps. Once your plants enter peak flowering, ramp the ballast up to 100% output and maintain a height of 50cm to 65cm directly above your main bud sites to drive intense PAR photons deep into inner branches.
- Root-Zone Hydration and Substrate Coordination: The extreme light energy and natural UV output of this 630W system speed up plant transpiration and root metabolism, causing crops to rapidly drink water and absorb nutrients. Support this accelerated root action by potting your crops in breathable fabric aeration pots filled with a light, highly porous 70/30 blend of Coco Coir and Horticultural Perlite. Ensure your wet-dry irrigation cycles stay flawlessly uniform by connecting your drip lines to a high-pressure Plont PPH Submersible Pump managed by an automated digital shot-timer.
- Managing Multi-Ballast Controller Networks: When linking multiple 630W ballasts via the built-in control link ports, make sure to use high-quality shielded data cables to block out radio frequency interference. Setting up a centralized network lets you automate smooth sunrise and sunset curves, protecting your facility from sudden electrical surges and keeping your crops free from lighting stress.
- Setting Up Safety Drip Loops in High-Humidity Environments: Because large commercial canopies trap high ambient moisture and leaf condensation, maintaining electrical cable safety is essential. When running your heavy-duty main power leads and reflector cables to your electrical panels, ensure the cords drop down into a loose, shallow U-shape bend right before they connect to the plugs or sockets. This forms a natural "drip loop"—any condensation or tracking moisture will pool at the bottom of the bend and drip safely away rather than running straight into your electrical terminals.
Ideal For (Uses)
- Commercial Flower Rooms & Large Greenhouses: The premier lighting option for large-scale facilities that need deep canopy penetration, ultra-broad solar spectrums, and massive footprint coverage.
- Automated Facility Networks: Perfect for commercial indoor farms that utilize centralized digital controllers to automate, dim, and schedule massive arrays of high-output lights.
- Essential Oil Extraction & Quality Scaling: An exceptional system for commercial facilities looking to maximize oil extraction percentages, overall terpene profiles, and distinct crop colorings through high-UV exposure.
Oversized Item Delivery Options
Since oversized items require special handling, we may need to provide a custom freight quote for your order and will contact you with an updated shipping rate.

Important Note on Availability & Shipping
Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.
Lead Times:
- In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
- Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.
While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.
Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions
Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:
- Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
- Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).
Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
