Lumatek - Utopia 630W/600W CMH/HPS DE Controllable Integrated Fixture – Next-Generation Hybrid HID Microprocessor System
Revolutionize your commercial facility’s spatial flexibility and lower equipment capital costs with the groundbreaking Lumatek Utopia 630W/600W CMH/HPS DE Integrated Fixture. For years, commercial cultivation facilities had to purchase entirely separate lighting architectures to run high-efficiency Ceramic Discharge Metal Halide (CMH) and traditional High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) technologies. The Utopia fixture shatters this operational limitation by incorporating a next-generation, microprocessor-controlled hybrid digital ballast that automatically detects, strikes, and monitors both high-voltage 630W CMH Double-Ended (DE) lamps and 600W HPS DE lamps. This gives growers the unique flexibility to swap light sources seamlessly between crop stages without buying separate ballasts or fixtures. Built as a balanced, all-in-one integrated housing, the high-efficiency hybrid ballast connects directly to an industrial double-ended lamp holder nestled within a premium, 97% reflective Alanod Hammertone Focal Reflector. This specialized German-engineered aluminum insert focuses light down at a targeted 140-degree beam angle to achieve intense canopy penetration in climate-controlled grow rooms, tents, and commercial greenhouses. For facilities looking to minimize under-canopy heat loads, the hybrid ballast can be detached completely from the reflector frame and operated as a remote unit using an optional HID extension cable. Highly versatile and automation-ready, the Utopia features three manual step-dimming settings (80%, 90%, and 100% power) and can interface directly with the Lumatek Digital Control Panel to enable precision automated scheduling, temperature-triggered emergency dimming, and fine-tuned 1% incremental scaling from 80% up to an intensified 110% overdrive setting.
Best For: Multi-phase commercial cultivation facilities, switching between vegetative CMH and flowering HPS lamps, high-penetration close-focus planting benches, and large-scale automated hybrid lighting networks.
Key Features & Technical Advancements
- Dual-Technology Hybrid Microprocessor Control: Automatically identifies and safely ignites high-efficiency 630W CMH DE lamps (240V) or heavy-yielding 600W HPS DE lamps (400V), providing ultimate multi-spectrum versatility on a single electrical line.
- Premium 97% Reflective Hammertone Focal Insert: Lined with high-purity German Alanod aluminum that bounces 97% of generated photons directly down into your crop rows, creating a focused 140-degree light distribution that eliminates wasted wall overspray.
- Fully Detachable Ballast for Remote Rigging: Offers the unique flexibility to slide the hybrid digital ballast off the reflector chassis and hang it outside your growing rows using an optional extension cable, drastically lowering room cooling loads.
- Centralized Multi-Fixture Control Port Network: Interfaces seamlessly with the external Lumatek Control Panel, enabling cultivation managers to daisy-chain and coordinate up to 400 Utopia fixtures per controller unit for precise facility automation.
- Advanced Incremental 1% Overdrive Capacity: While manual control offers standard 80%, 90%, and 100% power locks, plugging into a Lumatek console expands your control, letting you dial output from 80% up to a boosted 110% overdrive step in 1% increments.
- Smart Thermal Overload Safety Failsafes: Monitored constantly by digital logic that watches for input voltage spikes, open or short circuits, and ignition failures, protecting your high-value lamps and facility grid from damage.
- High-Efficiency Power Factor Correction: Delivers an elite power factor greater than 0.98 with a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) under 10%, maximizing current draw efficiency and preventing electrical noise in commercial layouts.

Advanced Hybrid Canopy Management & Substrate Control Tips
- Strategic Lamp Swapping for Crop Steering: Capitalize on the Utopia’s hybrid design by matching the lamp technology to your crop's physiological needs. Run a 630W CMH DE lamp during the vegetative and early transitional stretching phases to leverage its heavy blue spectrum and UV radiation, which ensures tight node spacing and strong stems. Once lateral floral clusters are established, swap to a high-output 600W HPS DE lamp to flood the room with the intense orange-red photon density required to maximize final bud swelling and total harvest weight.
- Root-Zone Hydration and Substrate Coordination: High-energy double-ended lighting systems generate intense radiant canopy heat, which sharply accelerates plant transpiration and root zone dry-backs. Support this rapid root metabolism by potting your crops in breathable fabric aeration pots filled with a light, highly porous 70/30 blend of Coco Coir and Horticultural Perlite. Ensure your wet-dry irrigation cycles stay flawlessly consistent by connecting your drip lines to a high-pressure Plont PPH Submersible Pump managed by an automated digital shot-timer.
- Managing Airflow and Heat in Remote vs. Integrated Layouts: When hanging the Utopia as a fully integrated all-in-one unit, ensure you have strong airflow crossing your rows to sweep heat away from the canopy. If your space has low ceilings or suffers from hot zones, unbolt the ballast from the reflector and use the HID extension cable to mount it on your facility walls or walkways. This simple step helps keep your plant rows at the perfect temperature (24°C to 26°C), preventing heat stress and protecting delicate terpenes.
- Setting Up Safety Drip Loops for High-Voltage Connections: Because double-ended HID lamps rely on high-voltage pulses for starting and continuous operation, keeping your electrical cables completely dry is paramount. When routing your main 220-240V input lead and your low-voltage controller wires, always ensure the cords drop into a loose, shallow U-shape curve right before plugging into the ballast ports. This creates a natural "drip loop"—any stray water or condensation will pool at the bottom of the bend and drip safely to the floor instead of tracking into your active electronic terminals.
Ideal For (Uses)
- Full-Cycle Commercial Facility Grids: The absolute best choice for large commercial facilities looking to streamline their infrastructure by running a single type of lighting hardware that adapts to both veg and flower phases.
- Automated Centralized Grow Operations: Perfect for indoor facilities running master environmental controllers, enabling automated dimming schedules, sunrise/sunset ramps, and automated high-temperature safety shutdowns.
- Focused High-Wire Crop Rows: Ideal for high-wire greenhouse or indoor setups growing tall crops like tomatoes, peppers, or medical plants where a focused 140-degree beam angle is needed to push intense light straight down into deep canopies.

Important Note on Availability & Shipping
Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.
Lead Times:
- In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
- Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.
While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.
Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions
Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:
- Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
- Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).
Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
