Description

Neutrog Bush Tucker 20kg - Professional Organic-Based Native Plant Food

Neutrog Bush Tucker is a high-performance, organic-based pelletised fertiliser specifically engineered to meet the unique nutritional requirements of Australian native plants. Developed in close consultation with native plant specialists, this 20kg professional-grade pack solves the operational challenge of feeding phosphorus-sensitive species. Bush Tucker provides a beautifully balanced, low-phosphorus nutrient profile that encourages robust structural growth and prolific flowering without the risk of toxicity common with standard agricultural inputs. Formulated from a base of nutrient-rich composted poultry manure, it is further enriched with essential trace elements and macro-minerals to ensure all natives, from the hardiest Eucalypts to the most delicate wildflowers, thrive in both home and commercial landscapes. By actively stimulating beneficial soil microbes, it also improves soil structure and moisture retention, accurately mirroring the natural forest floor environment these endemic plants favour.

Optimised for continuous slow-release delivery, the organic matrix binds nutrients efficiently, limiting leaching into waterways during heavy seasonal rainfall. The stable pelletised format allows for precise calibrating and mechanical spreading across expansive landscape boundaries, ensuring uniform coverage. Regular application builds a resilient, biologically active root zone that helps plants tolerate periods of extended environmental stress and dry spells.

Best For: Safely feeding and promoting vibrant health in all Australian native plants, including those highly sensitive to phosphorus adjustments such as Grevilleas, Hakeas, and Banksias.

Key Features:

  • Proteaceae Safe (Low Phosphorus): Specifically formulated to be safe for Grevilleas, Banksias, Hakeas, and Waratahs, which are easily damaged or killed by high-phosphorus agricultural formulations.
  • Organic-Based Foundation: High organic matter content drastically improves soil cation exchange capacity and long-term biological fertility, building a resilient root zone.
  • Enhanced Flowering & Foliage: Contains a specialised balance of Nitrogen and Potassium to promote deep green leaves and more frequent, longer-lasting floral displays.
  • Sustained Nutrient Delivery: The pelletised organic base ensures a steady, slow release of macro and micro nutrients, reducing leaching and providing consistent feeding over several months.
  • Bulk Professional Volume: The substantial 20kg bag offers excellent value and extensive coverage metrics for large-scale native landscaping projects, public parklands, and expansive residential acreage.

Primary Cultivation & Field Applications

  • Native Landscape Maintenance: A reliable, safe, all-in-one nutritional solution for established native borders containing a complex mix of canopy trees, structural shrubs, and groundcovers.
  • New Plant Establishment: Mixing directly into the backfill soil at planting time to encourage rapid lateral root strike and reduce transplant shock in young tube stock and native seedlings.
  • Commercial & Public Spaces: Providing highly cost-effective, premium organic nutrition for large-scale civil native revegetation projects, highway verges, and public parklands.
  • Flowering Stimulation: Applying top-dressings before the peak spring flowering season to maximise the colour intensity, volume, and lifespan of blooms in ornamental native species.

Pro Tip & Precision Application Management: For optimal results with sensitive Proteaceae species like Banksias and Grevilleas, always apply the pellets evenly beneath the drip line of the plant rather than piling them against the main trunk structure. Water in thoroughly immediately after application to dissolve the outer pellet layer and kick-start biological microbial activity.

When establishing fresh native tube stock in degraded soils, blend the pellets into the bottom of the planting hole and cover with a thin layer of unfertilised topsoil to prevent direct, concentrated contact with emerging root tips, fostering a smooth transition into the surrounding environment.

Shipping & Lead Times

Important Note on Availability & Shipping

Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.

Lead Times:

  • In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
  • Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 4–12 weeks depending on the order—they are custom made to order in Pakenham, VIC.

While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.

Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions

Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:

  • Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
  • Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).

Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
