Description

Nut and Tail Tap Connector – 3/4" BSP to 13mm Barb (Bag of 25)

Establishing a reliable connection between your main water source and your irrigation network is the foundation of a successful grow. Our Nut and Tail Tap Connectors provide a professional-grade transition from a standard 3/4" BSP threaded outdoor tap or manifold to 13mm low-density poly (LDPE) supply pipe. Featuring a two-piece swivel design, these connectors allow you to thread the nut onto your water source without twisting the entire irrigation line. Engineered for long-term durability, they provide a secure, leak-resistant interface that ensures your nutrient delivery system remains pressurized and efficient throughout the most demanding watering schedules.

Best For: Connecting 13mm poly supply lines to outdoor taps, tap timers, and 3/4" threaded manifold outlets.

Key Features

  • Standard 3/4" BSP Thread: Designed to fit perfectly onto standard Australian and British garden taps, water timers, and threaded irrigation valves for a universal connection.
  • High-Tensile Barbed Tail: The 13mm tail features aggressive, precision-moulded barbs that bite deeply into the poly pipe, providing superior pull-out resistance and a watertight seal.
  • Independent Swivel Nut: The "Nut and Tail" design allows the threaded nut to spin freely of the hose tail, preventing the irrigation pipe from kinking or twisting during installation.
  • Industrial UV-Stabilisation: Manufactured from premium, weather-resistant polymers designed to withstand the intense radiation of the Australian sun and high-intensity grow lights without becoming brittle.
  • Chemical & Nutrient Stable: Built to handle the continuous flow of water and mineral fertilisers without degrading, leaching, or corroding over time.
  • Leak-Proof Internal Seal: Designed to be used with a standard 3/4" washer to ensure a drip-free connection at the tap, preventing water waste and maintaining system pressure.

Specifications

  • Size: 3/4" BSP (Nut) x 13mm (Barbed Tail)
  • Material: High-Impact Polypropylene / UV-Resistant Polymer
  • Connection Type: Threaded Swivel to Barb
  • Quantity: 25 Pieces per Bag
  • Colour: Black (Light-Proof)

Installation & Maintenance Tips

  • Thermal Barb Fitting: For the easiest installation, dip the end of your 13mm poly pipe in hot water for 15 seconds. This softens the pipe, allowing the barbed tail to slide on fully for a "shrink-wrapped" seal as it cools.
  • Seating the Washer: Always ensure a 3/4" rubber or silicone washer is seated flat inside the nut before threading it onto the tap. Hand-tightening is usually sufficient for a watertight seal; avoid over-tightening with tools to prevent damage to the threads.
  • Winterization: While these are UV-stabilised, if used in outdoor garden environments prone to frost, it is good practice to drain the lines before winter to prevent expanding ice from stressing the fittings.

Ideal For (Uses)

  • Main Line Entry: Serving as the primary entry point for water entering a greenhouse or grow room from a standard mains tap.
  • Tap Timer Integration: Connecting 13mm supply lines to the outlet of automated digital tap timers for scheduled watering cycles.
  • Custom Manifolds: Building professional-grade distribution boards where multiple 13mm lines are fed from a 3/4" threaded header.

Shipping & Lead Times

Important Note on Availability & Shipping

Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.

Lead Times:

  • In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
  • Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.

While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.

Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions

Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:

  • Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
  • Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).

Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
