Description

Plont - PPH 5000 - Submersible Powerhead Pump – Commercial-Grade 5,000 L/hr High-Lift Drive

Bring top-tier commercial performance, immense vertical lift, and proactive debris filtration to your cultivation facility with the flagship Plont PPH 5000 Powerhead Pump. Purpose-built to handle the most demanding, high-volume hydroponic configurations and commercial master reservoirs, this completely submersible pump delivers a massive 5,000 L/hr volumetric flow rate combined with an extraordinary 5.0m maximum head height (vertical lift). Driven by a high-torque 151-watt motor core, the PPH 5000 features a long-life, removable and cleanable internal sponge filter that shields the pump's internals from organic particles. Outfitted with an extended 5-metre commercial power cable and carrying official Australian Electrical Safety Certification, this powerhouse is the definitive solution for high-pressure vertical racks or expansive facility-wide fluid distribution.

Best For: Multi-tier vertical farming racks, expansive commercial drip manifolds, high-volume nutrient solution transfers, master facility reservoir agitation, and layouts running loose organic media.

Key Features

  • Integrated Sponge Pre-Filtration: Equipped with a removable, cleanable internal foam filter screen that captures wandering bits of root matter, coco strands, or peat silt before they can reach the spinning impeller assembly, preventing internal clogs.
  • Extraordinary 5.0-Metre Static Lift: Driven by a heavy-duty 151-watt motor core that generates immense static pressure, making it capable of pushing massive fluid volumes up to a maximum vertical height of 5.0 metres—ideal for multi-level vertical farming facilities.
  • Extended 5-Metre Commercial Cable: Outfitted with an extra-long 5m power cord that comfortably reaches external power boards or overhead gantry lines, eliminating the need for dangerous extension cords near open water.
  • Hydroponic-Optimised Architecture: Formulated explicitly to operate continuously inside mineral-dense water columns, completely resisting scale build-up, salt encrustation, and corrosion from concentrated liquid fertilisers.
  • 100% Submersible Waterproof Casing: Enclosed in a high-impact, resin-sealed polymer housing with an IPX8 waterproof rating, ensuring complete electrical safety when resting at the bottom of deep, high-capacity reservoirs.
  • Large-Diameter Multi-Barb Outlets: Ships packed with oversized 19mm, 24mm, and 32mm screw-in outlet nozzles, ensuring compatibility with high-flow commercial plumbing lines and minimized friction restrictions.

Nursery Layout & Fluid Dynamics Optimization Tips

  • Factoring in Vertical Lift Losses: When mapping out high-flow automated networks, keep in mind that a pump's actual volumetric delivery velocity drops as your vertical lift increases. While the PPH 5000 tops out at 5,000 L/hr at zero lift, pumping water up onto a 3-metre vertical tier will lower final line pressure. Fortunately, with its 5.0m maximum lift threshold, it maintains excellent delivery speeds at heights where smaller pumps fail entirely.
  • Managing the Pre-Filter Sponge: If operating this pump inside reservoirs running fine organic substrates like loose **Coco Coir** or peat, check the integrated sponge filter every few weeks. Slide out the removable foam piece, rinse it under clean water to remove any fine silt build-up, and slide it back in to maintain peak hydraulic suction.
  • The Warm Water Tubing Trick: When connecting heavy-walled commercial tubing to the oversized 24mm or 32mm barbs, the fit can be incredibly tight. Simply submerge the tip of your flexible vinyl hose into a cup of boiling water for 15–20 seconds to temporarily soften the polymer material. This allows it to slide effortlessly over the barb for an airtight, leak-free compression seal.
  • Routine Mechanical Maintenance Loop: To secure flawless operation across consecutive harvest cycles, pull the front casing off the pump every couple of months and slide the high-torque magnetic impeller out. Clean away any built-up mineral scale, hard-water crust, or biological film with a small brush or a mild descaling rinse to preserve 100% factory output.

Ideal For (Uses)

  • Multi-Tier Vertical Farm Layouts: Utilizing the extreme 5.0m head pressure capability to effortlessly drive precisely mixed nutrient solutions from floor tanks up onto multi-level tracking or racking benches.
  • Commercial Automated Fertigation: Pressurizing massive multi-pot drip arrays or commercial delivery manifolds to execute precise, high-volume feeding events with absolute uniformity across extensive cultivation footprints.
  • Fast Facility Fluid Transfers: Evacuating massive catchment trays or quickly moving thousands of litres of fresh water or conditioned nutrient solutions from master storage reservoirs out to active distribution zones.
Oversize Item Delivery

Oversized Item Delivery Options

Shipping & Lead Times

Important Note on Availability & Shipping

Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.

Lead Times:

  • In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
  • Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.

While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.

Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions

Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:

  • Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
  • Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).

Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
