Professor's Nutrients - Starter Soak - Ready-to-Use Propagation Formula
Professor’s Starter Soak is a scientifically designed, professional-grade nutrient formula engineered to encourage young plants, cuttings, and seedlings to establish roots rapidly. Pre-mixed and ready to use straight from the bottle, this specialised soak features a perfectly balanced pH and a precise, ultra-low electrical conductivity (0.5 EC) tailored specifically for highly sensitive young root zones. It provides the ideal bridge between plain water and full-strength vegetative fertilisers.
By delivering a gentle yet complete profile of high-grade chelated micro and macro trace elements, Starter Soak ensures optimal nutrient absorption without the risk of salt burn. It is the ultimate plug, cube, and media conditioner for growers looking to accelerate early root and shoot development during the most fragile stage of the crop cycle. Using Starter Soak eliminates the guesswork, ensuring your clones and seedlings have the perfect nutritional start every time.
Best For: Pre-soaking starter plugs, rockwool cubes, and propagation media, accelerating root strike in fresh cuttings, preventing nutrient burn in delicate seedlings, and driving rapid early growth.
Key Features:
- Perfect 0.5 EC Balance: Precision-blended to a gentle 0.5 EC, offering the perfect low-strength nutritional foundation for young, vulnerable root systems.
- High-Grade Chelated Minerals: Packed with premium chelated macro and micro trace elements that are easily absorbed by young tissues, maximising nutrient mobility.
- Ready-to-Use Convenience: No measuring, mixing, or diluting required; pre-mixed at the optimum concentration and balanced pH to save valuable time in the propagation room.
- Accelerated Development: Actively stimulates early root branching while feeding tender young shoots to ensure strong, uniform early growth across your entire batch.
- Zero Salt Burn Risk: Formulated to eliminate the risk of overfeeding, ensuring fragile root hairs stay healthy, bright white, and fully functional.

- Media Pre-Soaking: Soak your rockwool cubes or coco plugs directly in Starter Soak before inserting cuttings to establish an ideal, nutrient-rich environment.
- Early Stage Feeding: Use as the primary watering solution for newly rooted clones during their first week of development before transitioning to vegetative nutrients.
- Cloning Tray Maintenance: Apply to propagation trays to keep young root zones consistently moist, fed, and protected against early-stage deficiencies.
Usage Tip: For the best results, ensure your propagation media is allowed to drain slightly after soaking so it is moist but not waterlogged. This maintains the perfect air-to-water ratio, allowing the 0.5 EC nutrients and oxygen to work together for explosive root initiation.

Important Note on Availability & Shipping
Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.
Lead Times:
- In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
- Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.
While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.
Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions
Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:
- Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
- Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).
Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
