Prop 64 Tray – Commercial-Grade Heavy-Duty Under-Tray Infrastructure Engineered for Rigid Root Zone Containment, UV Stabilization, and Versatile Layered Spacing
Establish a highly controlled, biosecure nursery foundation and optimize your early-stage vegetative success rates across your entire facility with our commercial-grade Prop 64 Tray. Explicitly engineered to meet the rigid environmental tolerances, clean-room standards, and tight space constraints of large-scale commercial wholesale nurseries, indoor vertical farms, and advanced cultivation facilities, this specialized propagation base delivers exceptional climate performance. Transitioning vulnerable unrooted cuttings, tissue culture plantlets, or fragile seedlings into robust vegetative specimens requires a specialized drainage and structural architecture that locks in moisture containment while facilitating gentle, stagnant-free air exchange and root-zone warmth. Standard baseline propagation trays are frequently too flimsy, warp when fully loaded with wet media plugs, or crack under intense UV grow lighting. Our advanced, low-profile propagation engineering solutions completely eliminate those operational vulnerabilities.
The core architecture of this heavy-duty under-tray relies on a premium, thick-gauge black plastic construction that has been fully UV-treated to guarantee multi-season field durability and crack resistance. This high-efficiency propagation engine measures 555 x 355mm to pair seamlessly with industry-standard cell inserts, rockwool blocks, and matching humidity covers, including the Prop 64 Dome, maximizing spatial layout footprint efficiency from lower-wattage facility workflows. Featuring a structural tray depth of 85mm, it allows cultivators to easily optimize vertical clearance and labor workflows, shifting effortlessly from tight multi-tier rack arrays to tall, open-air vegetative blocks. This generous root-zone clearance provides a reliable fluid catchment reservoir for runoff management while ensuring delicate developing root structures remain completely shielded from external light penetration, safeguarding beneficial micro-flora and preventing light-induced growth stalls.
Best For: High-density cloning and seedling production, maintaining high-humidity propagation micro-climates, staging multi-tier leafy green starters, and clean-room plantlet conditioning.
Key Features & Technical Advancements
- UV-Treated Rigid Structural Plastic: Features an advanced polymer formulation built to withstand intense overhead grow lighting and harsh greenhouse conditions without warping, cracking, or degrading over time.
- 85mm Deep Root-Zone Clearance: Engineered with a strategic 85mm depth profile to comfortably hold root plugs or rockwool blocks while providing ample room for bottom-watering strategies or fluid runoff containment.
- Optimized Footprint Compatibility: Formulated with precise 555 x 355mm dimensions, establishing a perfect foundational footprint that seats securely on commercial multi-tier wire racking and flood benches.
- Total Light-Block Root Protection: Industrial-grade black opaque construction completely eliminates ambient light penetration to the root zone, protecting delicate advancing root tips from air or light pruning.
- Reinforced Flat-Base Stability: Built with a rigid, non-flexing floor profile to prevent trays from bending or buckling during heavy manual handling, minimizing structural shock to delicate, unrooted cuttings.
- Rapid Deployment Low-Profile Design: Formulated to drop flawlessly onto active production benches or integrated vertical rack systems, enabling immediate integration into high-volume commercial nursery workflows.

Advanced Media Conditioning & Propagation Management Tips
- Optimizing Vapor Pressure Deficit (VPD) with Base Seals: When paired with a matching transparent cover, ensure the tray rim forms a flush, continuous seal to manage basic gas exchange. This locks in the required 85% to 95% relative humidity inside the canopy zone, preventing low-humidity air currents from wicking away moisture from your unrooted cuttings.
- Configuring Liquid Level Control for Stagnant-Free Roots: Utilize the 85mm tray depth to manage water or nutrient reservoirs carefully. Avoid letting propagation media sit in stagnant water for extended periods; instead, practice a strict dry-back cycle or utilize a bottom-groove configuration to facilitate rapid drainage and prevent localized root-zone rot zones.
- Utilizing Black Out Design for Maximum Light Interception: Take advantage of the opaque black walls to completely isolate the roots from overhead light patterns. Keeping the active root zone in absolute darkness accelerates cell division and structural lateral root development, leading to faster plug hardening and less transplant shock downstream.
- Nursery Sanitation and Multi-Batch Disinfection Protocols: Between cloning cycles, strip the tray entirely of media inserts. Submerge or scrub the inner surfaces with a commercial-tier sanitizing wash of 10% food-grade hydrogen peroxide or a specialized quaternary ammonium compound. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to clear any salt crusts or bio-films, ensuring a completely sterile environment before starting the next batch of cuttings.
Ideal For (Uses)
- High-Volume Commercial Nurseries: An exceptional setup for maintaining a perpetual rotation of clean, bare-root plugs, ensuring downstream hydroponic modules or soil benches are continuously filled without delays.
- Vertical Indoor Micro-Farms: Perfect for space-restricted facilities looking to scale up their propagation layout vertically, taking advantage of the low-profile 85mm depth on tiered shelf architectures.
- Dedicated Phenotype and Strain Hunting Lines: A clean, predictable structural environment ideal for isolating delicate genetic backups, experimental tissue culture transfers, or small-batch seed runs away from the main production areas.
Oversized Item Delivery Options
Oversized, heavy, and structural goods ship via specialist freight. Freight is calculated at checkout from estimated packaged volumetric or physical weight. Carrier depot audits may adjust the rate — if the increase exceeds 10%, we will contact you before processing.
Available options include:
✔ Delivery to your closest depot for pickup — default method
✔ Direct delivery — requires an operational forklift on site unless Tailgate Delivery has been specifically requested and quoted (contact us — this cannot be selected at checkout)
✔ Tailgate hydraulic lift delivery — must be specifically requested; contact us for a quote (not available as a checkout option; extra fees apply; required if you do not have a forklift)
✔ Forklift loading at our warehouse (no extra charge if you arrange your own freight)
✔ Direct truck delivery (available in Victoria)
Important Notes:
- Shipping costs vary by location and method
- Any carton or consignment over 25–30kg (or over 200cm) must be palletised
- Without a specifically requested and paid Tailgate Delivery quote, palletised freight requires a forklift on site — otherwise the carrier will redirect to the nearest depot
- Bulky and oversized items cannot be delivered to a PO Box — provide a physical street address
- Failed deliveries, locked gates, unattended sites, or incorrect business/forklift declarations may incur carrier redelivery, demurrage, and restocking fees as set out in our Terms & Conditions
Business Delivery:
- Selecting a business/commercial delivery rate warrants that the address has an operational forklift and certified operator during business hours
- If the carrier cannot unload, the consignment may be redirected to a depot and secondary fees may apply
- Additional fees may apply for failed delivery attempts due to lack of appropriate unloading equipment
See our Terms & Conditions (Article 8) for full freight and delivery rules.
Important Note on Availability & Shipping
Our warehouse is a logistics hub, not a retail showroom. Listing a product online does not mean it is stored at our Thomastown warehouse — many lines ship from supplier hubs (split fulfilment may apply).
How lead times work:
- Product page ETA: The Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) / lead-time badge shown on the product page at checkout is the agreed delivery timeframe for that order under Australian Consumer Law.
- Metro baselines: Advertised ETAs apply to standard metropolitan zones. Regional and remote addresses may take longer and may attract surcharges.
- Peak seasons: Orders in March–May, August–October, EOFY (June), Black Friday/Cyber Monday (November), and Christmas/New Year (December–January) may automatically add a 2–4 week buffer beyond the product page ETA.
- Supplier-dependent / backordered items: If stock is delayed, we will notify you with a revised ETA. You then have 7 days to accept the new timeframe or cancel for a full refund.
- Adloheat: Custom-made products from Adloheat (Pakenham, VIC) may take 4–12 weeks depending on the order.
Full fulfilment, cancellation, and freight rules are in our Terms & Conditions.
