Tub Outlet – Professional Bulkhead Connector & Leak-Proof Tank Fitting
The Tub Outlet is a fundamental component for any grower looking to construct a high-performance hydroponic system or custom nutrient reservoir. Engineered for maximum reliability, these fittings provide a permanent, watertight connection through the wall or base of any plastic container. Installation is straightforward: simply drill a 32mm hole, insert the outlet, and tighten the compression nut to create a perfect, leak-proof seal. Whether you are building a recirculating deep water culture (RDWC) system, a flood and drain tray, or a massive nutrient storage tank, these outlets ensure your plumbing remains secure and your grow room stays dry.
Best For: Constructing custom reservoirs, installing drainage points in grow trays, connecting main feed lines to nutrient tanks, and building DIY hydroponic systems.
Key Features
- Watertight Compression Seal: Features a high-quality gasket and precision-threaded nut that creates a robust, airtight seal against both flat and slightly curved surfaces.
- High-Impact Construction: Manufactured from heavy-duty, UV-stabilised polymers that resist the corrosive effects of concentrated fertilisers and the intense heat of indoor grow rooms.
- Versatile Barb Sizes: Available in 13mm, 19mm, and 25mm options to match standard Australian irrigation tubing, ensuring maximum flow efficiency for your specific application.
- Simple 32mm Installation: Standardised for use with a common 32mm hole saw, making it easy to create consistent, professional-grade plumbing entries across multiple reservoirs or trays.
- Low-Profile Internal Design: Engineered to sit as flush as possible against the inside of the tank, allowing for maximum drainage and preventing the "dead zones" of stagnant water found in taller fittings.
- Standard Compatibility: Designed to fit perfectly with SeaHawk screens and extensions, allowing you to build a fully modular flood and drain or overflow system.
Available Sizes
- 13mm Tub Outlet: Ideal for smaller feed lines, individual pot connections, and low-volume nutrient delivery.
- 19mm Tub Outlet: The standard size for Ebb & Flow drainage and medium-flow recirculating systems.
- 25mm Tub Outlet: The professional choice for high-volume main lines, large-scale reservoir drainage, and high-flow manifold systems.
Specifications
- Hole Saw Requirement: 32mm
- Material: Horticultural-Grade ABS Plastic
- Seal Material: Chemical-Resistant Rubber Gasket
- Colour: Black (Opaque to prevent light penetration)
- Application: Reservoirs, Grow Trays, and Header Tanks
Grower's Best Practices
- Drilling for Success: When drilling your 32mm hole, use a high-quality hole saw at a medium speed to prevent melting the plastic. Ensure you remove any plastic burrs from the edge of the hole to guarantee a flat, leak-proof seat for the gasket.
- The Perfect Seal: Always place the rubber gasket on the "wet" side (inside) of the tank or tray. Hand-tighten the nut firmly; do not over-tighten with tools, as this can compress the gasket unevenly or stress the threads.
- Strategic Placement: If using as a drain, install the outlet at the lowest point of the container. If using as an overflow, ensure it is positioned high enough to allow for the desired nutrient volume while leaving a safety margin.
Ideal For (Uses)
- Reservoir Plumping: Creating custom intake and return ports for nutrient mixing and storage tanks.
- Flood & Drain: Serving as the primary bulkhead for inlet and outlet assemblies in grow trays.
- System Overflow: Providing an emergency drainage point in top-feed systems to prevent spills in the event of a pump malfunction.

Important Note on Availability & Shipping
Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.
Lead Times:
- In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
- Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.
While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.
Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions
Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:
- Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
- Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).
Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
