ULight - Intercanopy Dimmer – Precision Manual & Automation Signal Control Module
Achieve ultimate crop steering precision and optimize your energy footprint with the ULight Intercanopy Dimmer. Specifically engineered to manage the unique spatial demands of under-canopy and in-row lighting setups, this commercial-grade control module provides crucial flexibility over your crop's light environment. In modern high-density facilities, younger vegetative plants, fresh cuttings, or shade-adapted lower leaves can suffer severe photon shock or localized leaf bleaching if hit with immediate 100% maximum light intensity. This versatile control unit addresses that operational challenge by letting you dials down intensity exactly to your crop's current metabolic threshold. Built with a dual-protocol architecture, it functions as a highly precise localized manual step-dimmer for quick on-the-floor adjustments, or functions as an inline data bridge that links an entire series string directly back to a centralized ULight Light Controller. Completely weather-hardened and moisture-sealed to withstand the high-humidity microclimates and heavy foliar sprays found deep inside dense crop rows, the ULight Intercanopy Dimmer delivers smooth, flicker-free dimming command to maximize floral development and room-wide yields.
Best For: Managing light intensity for daisy-chained intercanopy strings, gradual acclimation of lower plant nodes, multi-zone light adjustment in commercial indoor farms, and automated greenhouse lighting arrays.
Key Features & Technical Advancements
- Dual-Protocol Control Architecture: Offers the flexibility of instant on-the-floor manual control alongside a built-in automated link port, seamlessly bridging your lights to a master environmental console.
- Smooth Multi-Step Manual Dimming: Features a rugged, tactile manual selection dial that lets you lock in precise power steps (20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%) to match the exact developmental growth stage of your crop canopy.
- Centralized Series-String Control: Plugs directly inline into your series control path, allowing you to manage the light levels of up to 18 daisy-chained 100W Intercanopy LED bars simultaneously from a single module.
- Universal 0-10V Signal Stability: Utilizing premium internal solid-state circuitry, it delivers a clean, steady 0-10V control signal down the entire line, completely eliminating light flickering or signal degradation.
- Industrial IP65 Environmental Protection: The entire module housing is fully sealed against heavy dust, intense ambient moisture, and direct overspray, making it completely safe to operate deep inside humid plant canopy layers.
- Tool-Free Quick-Lock Integration: Built with heavy-duty commercial quick-connect terminals that click right into your ULight Intercanopy power and data lines, slashing facility installation labor and setup time.

Advanced Canopy Management & Signal Optimization Tips
- Implementing a Gentle Acclimation Schedule: When dropping high-intensity intercanopy lights directly into crowded rows for the first time, your plants will need a brief adjustment window. Set your dimmer to 20% or 40% for the first 3 to 5 days of exposure. This conservative starting point prevents localized light shock and allows the inner leaf stomata to safely ramp up their photosynthetic activity before you dial the system up to full power.
- Root-Zone Hydration and Substrate Coordination: Dialing up your intercanopy lights dramatically boosts the crop's transpiration and core feeding demands. Support this explosive growth by potting your plants in breathable fabric aeration pots filled with a highly porous 70/30 blend of Coco Coir and Horticultural Perlite. Ensure your wet-dry irrigation cycles stay flawlessly consistent by connecting your drip lines to a high-pressure Plont PPH Submersible Pump managed by an automated digital shot-timer.
- Preventing Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) in Control Data Lines: When connecting the dimmer module back to your master ULight Light Controller, make sure your low-voltage data lines follow a clean routing path. Never tie or wrap thin data lines parallel to heavy AC power cords. Route your data cables across your high-voltage power wires at a clean 90-degree angle to block electromagnetic interference, keeping your automated dimming schedules perfectly stable and free of unexpected light drops.
- Setting Up Safety Control Drip Loops: Because the dimmer module operates right in the heart of high-humidity grow spaces, protecting its connection terminals from creeping moisture is vital. When mounting the controller, always leave a small drop of slack in both the incoming and outgoing cables to form a natural "drip loop." Any condensation running down the wires will travel down to the bottom of the bend and drop safely to the floor instead of working its way directly into the electrical connection plugs.
Ideal For (Uses)
- Centralized Manual Row Controlling: The premier choice for on-the-floor cultivation managers who want rapid, reliable manual control over an entire row's light levels without navigating software menus.
- Master Automation System Integration: Perfect for large-scale industrial facilities that need to hook up long rows of intercanopy lights back to a centralized master controller for automated sunrise and sunset scheduling.
- Targeted Multi-Zone Crop Steering: Ideal for indoor facility managers who run staggered plant zones or varied strains down the same row and need the flexibility to adjust light intensities section by section.
Oversized Item Delivery Options
Since oversized items require special handling, we may need to provide a custom freight quote for your order and will contact you with an updated shipping rate.
Available options include:
✔ Delivery to your closest depot for pickup - default method

Important Note on Availability & Shipping
Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.
Lead Times:
- In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
- Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.
While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.
Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions
Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:
- Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
- Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).
Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
