Xtreme Gardening - Mykos - Natural Mycorrhizal Fungi & Root Mass Expander
Xtreme Gardening Mykos is a high-purity, beneficial soil microbe designed to dramatically expand your plant's root system for explosive growth and maximum nutrient uptake. Containing a highly active, single-species strain of mycorrhizal fungi (Rhizoglomus irregulare), Mykos forms a biological symbiotic bond directly with plant roots. This symbiotic network acts as a seamless extension of the root system, tunnelling into the growing medium to capture water and essential nutrients—especially phosphorus—that would otherwise be out of the plant's reach.
By drastically improving root structure and efficiency, Mykos accelerates the vegetative phase, increases lateral branching, and establishes the massive biological foundation required to support heavy, high-yielding harvests. It effectively transforms your growing medium into a living ecosystem that shields against root diseases and establishes long-term plant resilience. Whether you are growing in soil or coco, Mykos is an essential tool for achieving the healthy, fuzzy white root systems that define a successful garden.
Best For: Enhancing water and nutrient absorption, dramatically increasing root mass and structure, protecting plants against soil-borne root diseases, and minimising transplant shock during potting-up.
Key Features:
- Extensive Symbiotic Root Network: Ignites the growth of secondary root filaments (hyphae) that expand the effective surface area of the root zone up to several hundred times.
- Superior Phosphorus & Nutrient Uptake: Naturally solubilises tightly bound minerals in the soil, delivering a continuous stream of phosphorus, potassium, and trace elements directly to the plant.
- Drought & Heat Shield: The dense fungal network retains moisture in the rhizosphere, helping crops maintain turgidity and thrive during periods of environmental stress or dry spells.
- Active Root Disease Defence: Forms a physical, protective microbial barrier around root tissues, leaving no room for destructive pathogens like Pythium or Phytophthora to take hold.
- Fast-Acting Granulated Formula: Perfectly suited for direct application to root zones during transplanting or mixing into coco and soil blends for immediate inoculation.
Specifications:

| Product Type | Granulated Mycorrhizal Fungi |
| Active Species | Rhizoglomus irregulare (Beneficial Fungi) |
| Application Phase | Propagation, Potting-Up, and Transplanting |

| Available Formats | 450g Granular, 1kg Granular, and 100g Individual Satchels |
Ideal For:
- Transplanting & Repotting: Generously dust the planting hole and root ball directly with Mykos granules to ensure immediate contact with the new root growth.
- Coco & Soil Mixing: Blend the granulated formula directly into your custom potting soil or coco coir mixes before planting to establish a healthy biological medium from day one.
- Seedlings & Cuttings: Sprinkle a small amount into propagation trays or rockwool plugs to promote rapid root development on delicate young clones.
Usage Tip: Mykos works best through direct physical contact with the roots. When transplanting, make sure the granules are touching the root ball. Since these are living organisms, avoid using high-concentration synthetic fungicides or heavily chlorinated water, as these can inhibit the fungal colony's ability to establish.

Important Note on Availability & Shipping
Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.
Lead Times:
- In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
- Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.
While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.
Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions
Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:
- Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
- Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).
Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
