The Opinel N°07 "My First Opinel" is the ultimate introductory folding knife, thoughtfully engineered with early skill development and maximum physical safety in mind. Featuring a specialised round-ended blade to prevent accidental puncture injuries, it provides a secure, reassuring, and controlled experience for young outdoor enthusiasts developing their wilderness proficiencies. Outfitted with a vibrant, comfortably contoured wooden handle scaled for developing hands and Opinel's patented dual-action locking ring, this medium-sized knife serves as an exceptional training tool for teaching responsible tool handling, camp crafting, and basic utility chores.
Hand-crafted in France, the blade is struck from premium, low-maintenance stainless steel that offers excellent edge retention and superior resistance to corrosion. The iconic wooden handle is anatomically shaped to encourage a proper, slip-free grip during fine motor tasks. To suit individual styles and maximise visibility in outdoor settings, the handle is available in an extensive range of lacquered colours or a classic natural finish, making this introductory pocket knife a timeless rite of passage for the next generation of scouts and explorers.
Best For: Parents, scout group leaders, and outdoor educators seeking a safe, ultra-reliable, and highly functional introductory pocket knife to teach young beginners essential whittling, carving, and wilderness safety protocols under direct supervision.
Key Features:
- Safe Round-Ended Blade Profile: Specifically engineered with a blunt, modified rounded tip to eliminate accidental piercing hazards during early learning stages while maintaining a precision-honed cutting edge for clean slicing.
- Patented Virobloc® Safety Ring: Equipped with Opinel's historic dual-action safety collar, allowing the high-grade blade to be mechanically locked securely open during active use or safely closed for secure pocket transport.
- High-Visibility Colour Spectrum: Features a beautifully finished timber handle available in a wide selection of vibrant tones - including Blue, Tangerine, Red, Apple Green, Fuchsia, and Natural - making it exceptionally easy to track on the forest floor.

Important Note on Availability & Shipping
Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.
Lead Times:
- In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
- Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.
While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.
Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions
Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:
- Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
- Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).
Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
