Opinel - Traditional Classic N°10 Carbon Steel Folding Knife – Large Heritage Utility Knife
The Opinel N°10 Carbon Steel Folding Knife is a premium, heavy-duty tool expertly crafted to provide exceptional cutting power and traditional style. Stepping up from the standard pocket-sized models, the larger footprint of the N°10 makes it a formidable utility knife, particularly well-suited for demanding camp chores, culinary tasks, and inclusion in outdoor survival kits. Outfitted with a high-performance carbon blade, a sustainably sourced wooden handle, and the dual-action Virobloc® safety ring, this knife carries forward over 130 years of authentic French craftsmanship.
Best For Campers, outdoor chefs, hunters, and traditionalists looking for a larger, full-sized folding utility knife that achieves an incredibly sharp, high-performance edge for substantial slicing tasks.
Key Features

High-Hardness Carbon Blade: Forged from premium high-carbon steel, celebrated for its exceptional hardness, outstanding edge retention, and unmatched ease of re-sharpening.

-

-
Patented Virobloc® Safety Ring: Equipped with Opinel's legendary safety collar, allowing you to lock the blade securely open during heavy utility work or safely closed inside your pack or kit bag.

-
Demanding Utility Tasks: Effortlessly slicing through thick double-walled cardboard shipping containers, heavy ropes, dense packaging materials, and garden twine.
Pro Tip: High-carbon steel blades achieve a razor-sharp edge that easily out-slices stainless steel models, making them a favorite for outdoor tasks. Because this premium blade is susceptible to rust, it requires simple routine maintenance: always avoid damp storage environments, wipe the blade completely dry after every use, and occasionally apply a thin coat of food-safe mineral oil. Over time, your N°10 will develop a handsome, deep patina unique to your outdoor adventures!

Important Note on Availability & Shipping
Our warehouse serves as our office and logistics centre rather than a retail showroom. Because we ship from multiple locations and manage high-turnover stock, not all items are available for immediate pickup.
Lead Times:
- In-Stock Items: Usually ready for dispatch the same day.
- Supplier-Dependent Items: Usually take 2–8 weeks to arrive, depending on supplier availability. Products from Adloheat may take 8–12 weeks to manufacture—they are made to order in Australia by a small business, and longer lead times reflect the care put into quality.
While we strive for fast delivery, some timelines are subject to supplier availability and are beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we source the best quality gear for your project.
Biosecurity & Interstate Shipping Restrictions
Due to strict state biosecurity regulations, we are unable to ship some products to certain states and territories:
- Potting Mixes cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA), the Northern Territory (NT), or Tasmania (TAS).
- Seeds cannot be shipped to Western Australia (WA).
Orders placed for these items to restricted states will be cancelled and refunded. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the items being ordered can lawfully be delivered to their state or territory.
